A small kimono tailor shop established in 1872 in Tehara, along the side of Tokaido.

Tokaido (great eastern road) is the road which travellers used to take to go between Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto (Japan's old capital).

Kaishu Katsu often visited and stayed with us along his travels. We provided him with accommodation,
food, and kimono.

1st generation; Katsujiro Satouchi devoted his life to weaving, making, collecting kimonos.

Our kimono collection is mostly from Kyoto, (the cultural center of Japan).
Since 1872, we have served as a fashion hub for the town's people. "Warmth" is what we offer to our customers.

The building has been registerd as a cultural asset of Japan and has received recognition from the head of Cultural Affairs.

We have also contributed to the Ritto History Museum by donating over 20,000 items of cultural materials and writings.

Today, we continue to sell kimono at this original location. currently, we sell kimono from Gion,Nishijin of Kyoto and clothe from Nagahama, Shiga.
In addition, we make tailored shirts, pants, coats, and full kimono.
We have developed many tailor connections across Japan,
which makes it possible to design an original article of clothing.

We believe and respect each individual's thoughts, fashion, and desired appearance. As a tailor, we make it possible to produce a one-of-a-kind outfit for you.
You can also create your own goods or souvenirs at the store.
While listening to the sound of the sewing machine, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.
We welcome you from any part of the world.
